Pensacola VegFest

With spring being such a fresh and green season, after the dusty browns of winter, it only feels right to get out and eat healthier, or at least try some plant-based foods, this season. Pensacola VegFest 2022 is the perfect opportunity to dabble in some vegan cooking, as well as purchase products from local artisans. This year’s VegFest will take place on Saturday, April 9th from 11 AM to 6 PM at the Gulfside Pavilion located right in front of the beach ball water tower on Pensacola Beach. The festival features local vegan food vendors, vegan desserts for sale, cooking demonstrations, face painting, live music, free yoga, and jewelry and clothing for sale. The festival seeks to help people incorporate sustainable vegan food into their lives, in an easy and accessible way.

 

Bands On The Beach

Also located at the Gulfside Pavilion, is Pensacola Beach’s warm weather concert series Bands on the Beach which returns to the stage every Tuesday night starting on April 5th. The concert series showcases local bands in a beautiful setting every week from 7- 9 PM. Spectators are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the music and the sunset, but pets and glass bottles are prohibited.

 

Easter Egg Hunt At The Blue Wahoo Stadium

After two years of delivering eggs to homes, the Marcus Pointe Baptist Church is once again bringing the biggest egg hunt in Pensacola back downtown this Easter season. With over 50,000 eggs up for grabs, this event promises fun and excitement for all children. The Easter egg hunt will be held at the Community Maritime Park adjacent to the Blue Wahoo Stadium, on Saturday, April 16th, starting at 11 AM. There will be two hunts divided by age brackets, with children 0-4 hunting for eggs at 11, and Kindergarten- 5th Grade kids hunting at noon. Participation is free but egg hunters must register online.

 

Florabama Mullet Toss

Probably one of the most iconic events of the spring on the Gulf Coast, only a short drive from Pensacola, is the Florabama Mullet Toss in Orange Beach Alabama. Hosted at the Florabama Lounge, the event promises to be the Gulf Coast’s greatest beach party, with mullet tossing, music, and drinks from 10 AM to 4:30 PM on Friday, April 22nd through Sunday, April 24th. It only costs $15 to participate in the mullet-tossing activities, with all proceeds going to charity. Enjoy the sun, sand, drinks, and fish tossing fun all just a short drive from Pensacola.

 

Crawfish Festival

Another seafood-based festival this spring, the Pensacola Crawfish Festival is bringing cajun flavor right to the heart of downtown Pensacola. Locals won’t want to miss thousands of pounds of Louisiana crawfish served up in all different ways, as well as food trucks, live music, arts and crafts vendors, and more. The Pensacola Crawfish festival starts at 11 AM on Friday, April 29th, and doesn’t wrap up until 5 PM on Sunday, May 1st.
